I went on a shopping trip to Selfridges in Birmingham today and discovered this strange sponge in the beauty hall. This is marketed as an ‘enriching, powerful and effective answer to premium skin cleansing.’
You dampen the sponge and use it to remove makeup either with or without cleanser. This didn’t remove my mascara however it did remove my other makeup.
The jury’s still out on this one as I haven’t found it any more effective than my usual cleansing cloths, but my opinion may change the more I use this.
For any girl like myself who has a ridiculous nail polish collection but likes the longevity of a gel polish, there is finally the perfect product.
You apply your regular polish and let this dry completely. Then you apply a coat of the polish to gel and cure this in your LED lamp for 30 seconds. Ta dah you have nails that last for 2 weeks in any colour that you want!
This only lasts around 2 weeks so not as long as a regular gel polish, however this is easier to remove, simply buff the top layer and then hold an acetone soaked cotton pad over the nail.
I have never been a very good sleeper. I fall asleep quickly but can never stay asleep as my brain goes in to overdrive and stresses about even the most unimportant things!
My friend bought me this set for Christmas from thisworks which contains the deep sleep pillow spray and the deep sleep dream cream.
This pillow spray is amazing. It smells of lavender and really does help you relax and switch off before bed. I have been spraying it on to my pillow whilst reading before bed or if I wake in the night I spray my pillow to help get back to sleep. The cream smells similar but I am not quite sure where you are meant to use this to be able to smell the relaxing scent. I have simply been using it as a hand cream as I have the spray for my pillow.
I really would recommend this to anyone who has issues with sleep as it really does help relax you!
I have been contemplating trying ‘Perfect Forumula’ nail polish, and finally caved and purchased the QVC special value set last week.
I applied the base coat, 2 coats of colour and then the top coat! This has to be the worst nail polish I have tried in a long time!
The formula was very thin and was streaky even after two coats. The formula was also not plumping. All I will say is that the model on QVC must have had 10 coats on or very good lighting! I kept the polish on for one day before going back to my trusted Nails Inc! I will be sending the Perfect Formula set back to QVC and will not repurchase this brand!
I hope this helps anyone that has also been interested in this!
Hi all, I hope that you all had a lovely New Year and that all of your dreams come true in 2016!
This was the only beauty sale item that I picked up this year as I am saving for a mortgage.
This was £25 reduced from £50 for 100ml.
First of all the packaging is beautiful, and the pump seems of a very high quality. The product is a beautiful texture and smells very similar to the Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. This removed all of my makeup but did struggle a little with the waterproof mascara, however I normally remove this with Bioderma before anyway.
This is not quite as good as the Emma Hardie, however this is still a lovely product to use, and the packaging makes this definitely worthy of a place on any dressing table!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas!
I haven’t included an image of my planner as I chose a photo collage front sheet which is kinda personal!
I had one of these planners last year from personal-planner.com/EN and absolutely loved it, so knew that I would order another for 2016.
This year the quality has improved further and the front and back personalisable sheets are now made of thin card rather than paper like last year.
The brilliant thing about Personal-Planner is that you can personalise the interior. There is the option of vertical or horizontal views and I then chose to have the background striped pink.
There are multiple options for along the bottom of the page. I chose two ‘to-do-lists’ and then ‘dinners for the week’. I also chose personalised ‘training’ boxes within each day to say how many hours I have trained for.
If you are in the market for a diary then I would highly recommend this company. It was only £20 and arrived within a week of ordering.
I was very lucky that my MAC highlighter hit pan last week meaning that I could justify a new highlighter!
There was really only one product that I wanted. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders have received lots of hype and in time for Christmas, Hourglass have released this edit which features 6 of their products.
- Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
- Ambient Lighting Powder in Iridescent light
- Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light
- Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure
- Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush
- Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light
Diffused Light can be used as an al over face powder, whereas Iridescent Light and Dim Light are highlighters for the high points of the face.
Both blush colours are beautifully subtle giving a fresh glow to the cheeks and the bronzer gives a sumptuous healthy glow to the face.
This palette is expensive at £65 however the sizes of the products are generous at 1.4g each and easily fit even a powder brush in each pan.
A true princess product to put on your Christmas list!
