Beautiful smelling haul!

haul august 2014

Firstly, I picked up this beautiful vest top from Oasis. It is a gorgeous grey colour (although it is showing up more lilac on camera) with a scalloped edge. This is a beautiful light-weight vest in an unusual colour which I know I will get a lot of wear out of.

I then went in to the body shop to shop for a present for my friends birthday. I did pick up a present for her but I also treated myself! I picked up the Solid Oil for Lips as recommended by FleurdeForce. This is a very oily lip balm (stating the obvious I know). It really does nourish your lips however I don’t think that a lipstick would work on top due to the oily texture. It is definitely more of a lip balm to use on its own.

In The Body Shop I also picked up their Early-Harvest Raspberry Eau De Toilette. I don’t normally wear the body shop fragrances because they are so fruity and remind me of the kind of scents I used to wear as a teenager. However, this is simply divine. It really does smell of fresh raspberries and I just can’t keep smelling it. There is something very addictive about this scent.

I did also pick up another perfume! I picked up Britney Spears Island Fantasy. It was one of the offers at the till and it was £15 for 100ml!! Bargain!!! This is definitely a summer scent. It smells like a tropical cocktail with notes of coconut and pineapple. I would’t wear this of an evening but for a day at work it is perfect!

Clinton Cards had a fantastic offer on their Yankee Candles. I picked up a couple of their large jars for presents but for myself I picked up these two votives in Pink Hibiscus scent. This is a beautiful floral scent with hints of rose. These were 50% off so i couldn’t resist even though I have way too many candles at home!

The last things I picked up were a couple of products from L’Oreal. I picked up another of their nail polishes in Pistachio Drage. This is a stunning colour as is the rest of their latest range. These are fantastic quality and seem like good value, however they work out at the similar price as OPI and NailsInc per ml. That said, the colours are gorgeous and they are always on offer. They were on offer so I also picked up an eyeshadow from the same brand. I picked up the Colour Riche L’Ombre Pure Gel-Infused Eyeshadow in Nude. This is a cream eyeshadow in a beautiful taupe colour. I haven’t tested the longevity yet but it looks promising!

Elf Haul!

elf haul august 2014

Last week Elf Cosmetics had 50% off all their products so it would have been rude not to!

The first thing I picked up was the clear brow gel. This product has received a lot of hype online so I was excited to try it. I have used it for work the last few days and it doesn’t seem to have flaked at all and has held my brows in place all day so for £2 full price it’s a winner!

I also picked up some of their brushes. I ordered 2 powder brushes and a eye crease brush. These brushes are so disappointing. The moment I opened the packaging I could tell that they were poor quality……. they went straight in to the bin!

I ordered their Shimmer highlighter in Pink. This is quite powdery and doesn’t last for very long at all but for £2.50 full price then it is a good product to use if you are happy to top up throughout the day.

The product that surprised me most was the Maximum Coverage Concealer. Considering that this is only £4 full price it has decent coverage and blends very well. Definitely a product to try if you want an affordable concealer.

I picked up the Shimmer Eyeline Pencil in Iconic Ivory to use on the inner corner of my eye, however the pencil is scratchy and does not blend very well at all. Definitely not a product to try!

Finally, I decided to add the Tone Correcting Powder to my basket simply because it intrigued me. It is made up of 4 coloured powders: blue, pink. green and yellow. The idea behind the product is great, however the actual product is horrendous. The powder makes your skin look white. Considering that I am a very pale person it is very rare for a product to be too pale for me, so this would be even more horrendous for a person with a medium skin tone!

My verdict…….. I would much rather spend more money on other brands and have decent products than pay extremely low prices for products that are going to go straight in to the bin!!
