Laura Mercier Body Butter in Fresh Fig |£26 for 170g| Sample is 30g so worth £4.59Packed with nourishing shea butter, grape seed oil and protecting aloe vera gel for silky, scented limbs | This body butter smells fantastic. It is a lovely thick creamy texture, however, would I pay £26 for the full-size? I don’t think so. It’s a lovely treat to use but there are other body butters on the market for a much cheaper price tag

Weleda Replenishing Oat Shampoo | £8.95 for 190ml | Sample is 18ml so worth £0.85 | This gentle shampoo contains nourishing organic jojoba oil to smooth, reduce breakage and improve suppleness | This is a very disappointing sample size especially when it is one of the 5 main samples. I have not tried this shampoo as it does not say whether or not it is safe for coloured hair so I don’t want to risk it. Even if I had tried it, it would have been difficult to give a true review as with my long hair I would be lucky to get 2 shampoos out of the tiny tube.

Chella Highlighter Pencil |£15.95| Presumably the sample is full size | Brighten and add glow to areas you wish to accentuate | This is a peach toned highlighter pencil. This is not a good colour match for my pale skin so I will not be using this as a highlighter. When I applied this it did not seem to highlight much at all after you had blended it. However, on the plus side, it would make a good waterline highlighter (however I wouldn’t recommend this as I am not sure how safe it is to use actually as an eyeliner).

Lilla’lli Line Define Fill in Blackmail | £10 | Presumably sample is full size | A waterproof pencil to define eyes | I received the black eyeliner. It is a lovely soft, creamy pencil and the pigmentation is fantastic. However, it smudges very easily and did not last me all day. Definitely not a contender to replace my Rimmel black eyeliner!

English Laundry Signature For Her EDP | £16 for 10ml | Sample is 2ml so worth £3.20 | A divine delicate fragrance with elegant notes of quince, jasmine petals and musk | This is a beautiful feminine fragrance. It is sweet and floral at the same time. This would be a lovely summer fragrance. I will definitely consider purchasing the full-size of this. Or maybe put it on my christmas list.

Lifestyle Extra | Pukka Herbs Teas | £2.29 for for 20 teabags | Sample was 3 teabags so worth £0.34 | I quite liked this as a sample as I love trying new fruit teas. Unfortunately because I am very fussy with my teas I gave the earl grey and the cinnamon to my mom, but the elderberry and echinacea was very nice. If they sell them in my local supermarket I would definitely consider buying them.

Beauty Extra | Pencil Sharpener | £3 | This would have been really useful a week age when I had lost my sharpener and had to repurchase a new one. There’s not much else to say about a sharpener, they’re much of a muchness!

Total Box Value = £34.73

The box was good value, however, there were a few disappointing products in there. I would prefer to see some more well known brands and better sample sizes for some of the products

Autumn Lip Essentials

Blistex Relief Cream | This is definitely my number 1 winter lip essential. This cream is designed to relieve cracked lips but is also for use on cold sores. I use this when my lips are in their worst condition and have cracked. This has quite a menthol/medicinal taste but really works. A product for those days when nothing else will cut it. The only criticism I have is that due to the metal tube, it is not handbag practical. If the tube gets squished, when you open it it just keeps coming out so is a huge waste of the product.

Hawaiian Tropic Lip Gloss in Mango Papaya | This will seem like a strange product to have in an autumn post. For those of you who are not familiar with the brand, Hawaiian Tropic produce sun cream. However this lip gloss tastes so god damn good that it is an all year round essential. Plus it has spf 25 so you’re keeping your lips protected all year round!

Lanolips Lemonaid | I held off buying this product for months due to the price. It is £8.99 which seems ridiculous for a lip balm. I finally succumbed to temptation and do not feel at all guilty. This lip balm is amazing. It so so thick it really does moisturise your lips for hours after application. This would be a fantastic product for overnight moisturisation, however due to the pretty shimmer I prefer to use this during the day as I don’t normally wear lipstick.  It tastes amazing and it has a slight pretty shimmer. There’s nothing else to say. A fantastic product!

Lush Mint Juleps Lip Scrub | This is the perfect accompaniment to all the other products listed. Lush’s range of lip scrubs are made from sugar so you lick them off after scrubbing. I use this before AM and PM and follow with either Lanolips or my 8 Hour Cream. No mess and they taste amazing. My favourite is the mint juleps one which tastes like mint chocolate, however all the other flavours are divine. This gives the perfect base for applying lip balm and lip colour.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream | This is a cult beauty product and certainly lives up to its reputation. I use this overnight to keep my lips hydrated. I have to confess that I have an awful habit of biting my lips when i’m stressed so this really helps to repair them overnight. You can also use this product on other areas such as the cuticles or patches of dry skin. Quite pricey but lasts for ages!

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Nudist | I bought this product purely for the name but was pleasantly surprised. I don’t normally wear much colour on my lips at all so I went for the nudist shade. This is a gorgeous natural shade with an edible vanilla scent. These apply nicely and last for a few hours. An added bonus is that the packaging is handbag friendly.

I like to wear darker colours in the winter and brighter colours in the summer

The best thing about dark colours is that they look fantastic with a glitter topcoat to transform them from day to night

It is important to use a good top and base coat, especially with darker colours. My favourite is the Nails Inc Kensington Caviar set. This is so important as chips show up more on darker colours plus darker colours look better when glossy rather than matte.

I should point out that I am not a fan of the liquid sand effect, however I love this colour so much that I add my Nails Inc Gel effect top coat over the top to smooth down the effect.

Mrs O’Leary’s Bbq by OPI is my number one favourite colour for autumn/winter. It is just the most beautiful burgundy colour!
