I start a new job this week so wanted fairly neutral nails but with some personality. Hence why I chose this combination. the colour is stunning yet still professional and the glitter is delicately subtle.
I couldn’t decide between glitter or a solid colour so went for both!
The base colour is Essie take it outside and the glitter is No7 Disco Ball.
The Essie colour has shown up quite brown in the photo but it is a true grey in reality.
I finished off the manicure with Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Topcoat. This is my favourite topcoat that dries quickly and is incredibly glossy!
I picked up a Nails Inc gift set in the sales. The main reason that I picked up the set was because of this lilac colour. It is just so beautiful.
As per usual the formula is fantastic. I always do two coats but it is full coverage after one coat.
Just to mention the set this was in was only £25 in the sale and contained 6 colours, a nail file and a black clutch/makeup bag.
This set is definitely worth picking up if you can still find it anywhere!
I went a bit shopping mad this past week and ended up with this little lot!
First of all the scarf…….. I love the contrast of the grey and bright pink…….. absolutely perfect for spring! I picked this up in Primark for £4!
Next up is this beautiful nude lipstick. I have been looking for the perfect nude lip but all the ones I have tried haven’t hit the mark, whereas this colour is perfect. This is from L’Oreal Paris’ Color Riche Collection Privee in the colour Doutzen’s Nude. It is the perfect nude that is not too brown but not too pink!
Boots had 3 for 2 so I also picked up this Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara! I accidentally picked up the waterproof version and I am so disappointed with this mascara. After I had applied two coats my lashes barely looked different to having no mascara on. Maybe the non-waterproof one would be better!
The last item I picked up from Boots 3 for 2 offer was this L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique concealer in Light. I didn’t think that this concealer had very good coverage but I like it for applying over another concealer to highlight the under-eye.
I have always wanted to try Physicians Formula but it is not normally available in the UK. However, I discovered this in TKMaxx. It was the only product they had by this brand but I am so glad that I found it. The bronzer is lovely and surprisingly it isn’t too orange for my pale skin and the blusher is a lovely coral colour. This product also has the added benefit of having a mirror and small brush underneath. I am definitely looking forward to trying more products from this brand!
I picked up some more Invisibobble hair bands. I have these in the yellow and they are amazing. They do not dent your hair and they prevent getting tight hairs when your hair is up! If you wear your hair up often then definitely check these out!
Beautybay had an extra 10% off over easter weekend so I picked up these two summer colours. The pink is from the Brazil Collection and is ‘Kiss Me I’m Brazilian’. The purple is ‘You’re such a Budapest’ from the Euro Centrale collection! These are both must have colours for spring/summer and have a fantastic formula!
Last but definitely not least, Nails Inc had an 8 piece special collection for only £20……. I couldn’t resist!
From L – R (Top) : Hay Hill, Weighhouse Street, Providence Court, Adam’s Row
From L – R (Bottom) : Palace Gate, Beaufort Street, Kensington Square, St Catherine’s Dock
There is not one colour in this collection that I am not in love with! They are all beautiful colours with fantastic formulas so keep your eyes peeled for some NOTD’s using these beauties!
Nails Inc recently launched their Floral effect polish for spring. This is a clear based glitter polish with large flower pieces in it. This colour is called Chelsea Embankment Gardens and has pale pink and white glitter particles with pink, yellow and blue flowers.
This was difficult to apply as the brush doesn’t always pick up a flower but the effect is lovely for spring and really brightens up a manicure.
I would definitely recommend picking one of their floral effect polishes up as I have not seen any other polish like it on the market! Good job Nails Inc!!
I paired Park West and Highbury by Nails Inc which were from my latest purchase from Nails Inc
I could not take a photo that did this manicure justice
Highbury is a beautiful glitter top coat made up of white, gold and pale pink glitters
It gives a beautiful feminine edge to the manicure without being too over the top glittery
Last week Nails Inc had an offer that was too good to resist: 8 polishes for £20. There were three different collections. There was the collection that I purchase which was the more pastel/neutral option, there was a brights collection and there was an in-between collection with bright pastels. All three collections were beautiful but I chose this collection as it was the only collection where I didn’t own most of the colours.
From L-R (top row): St Catherine’s Dock, Park West, Highbury, Little George Street
From L-R (bottom row): Chelsea Green, Fitzroy Road, Holland Park Gardens, Holland Park Avenue
*The only colours I already own in the set are Holland Park Gardens and Holland Park Avenue, however the set was still a steal for the 6 polishes for £20 as this works out at just over £3 per polish. That’s even cheaper than drugstore polishes!!!
St Catherine’s Dock is a cream nude pink with a lilac undertone. It appears much paler in real life than in the picture
Park West is a pale off white colour with a hint of grey
Highbury is a glitter top coat consisting of white bar and circle glitters, pale pink hexagonal glitters and gold multi-shape glitters
Little George Street is a powder blue cream polish. It is appearing much darker in the photo than in real life
Chelsea Green is a silver base with black and silver small glitter particles
Fitzroy Road is a nude brown-toned peach cream polish. It has a slight dusky pink undertone
Holland Park Gardens is a very pale olive green cream polish. I already own this polish and I have to say that it is one of my all time favourite nail polishes across all brands
Holland Park Avenue is a rich warm brown cream polish
Some of the colours in the collection are available on nailsinc.com but I am unsure as to whether some were limited edition colours or are to be released soon
I did this manicure for valentines day but it is cute enough to wear any day!
The colours I used are:
– Nails Inc Totes Pink (limited edition in Instyle magazine)(Pale pink)
– Nails Inc Leonard Street (Hot Pink neon)
– OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (White with blue/grey undertone)
– Barry M Pink-Silver Glitter
I applied 2 coats of the pale pink on all fingers except for my ring fingers, on which I applied the Barry M glitter (I had to do 4 coats for full coverage)
I then used a small dotting tool with the neon pink to draw small hearts at the edge of the nail. I draw 3 dots in a triangle and then join them up
For the heart on the ring finger I used a heart punch and sticky tape strips. I punched a heart in the sticky tape strip and applied this to the nail once the glitter polish was completely dry. I painted over the tape with the white polish and let it go tacky before removing the tape
I finished the manicure off with a coat of Kensington Caviar Top Coat by Nails Inc. I always use a top coat but it is especially important when doing nail art as not only does it prevent chipping but it makes the finish look much smoother and professional
