A very naughty purchase at a not quite so naughty price …………

So I made a naughty little purchase in the House of Fraser sale this week.

I have always wanted a Mulberry handbag but have never been willing to pay close to £1000 for one, however, I came across a 30% off sale in House of Fraser Birmingham so the bag I chose was reduced to £525.

The bag I fell in love with was the Mulberry Lily in Deer Brown. There was a beautiful pink version however the brown was a much more versatile colour that will go with majority of outfits.

The leather is absolutely beautiful and the gold hardware is robust.

I have to give a mention to the wonderful sales assistant in store that was not at all snotty and just generally lovely.

One of my dreams has come true and I finally own a mulberry!

New love of my life!

I have had my eye on a Leather Ted Baker bag since the start of the season and finally decided to cave in and buy it when House of Fraser had their brand event on.

The bag was originally priced at £229 but with the House of Fraser discount I got the bag for £183.

The bag is made of black bovine leather with rose gold hardware and a polyester lining.

My favourite thing about this bag is that the section on the front of the bag detaches so that it can be used as a clutch bag……… so 2 bags for the price of 1!

The rose gold hardware and winged sides are very on-trend however the bag is still a classic style.

The interior of the bag is in a beautiful monochrome flower print and has 2 small open pockets and one larger zip pocket.

The bag also comes with a purple dust bag to ensure that the bag can be easily and safely stored.

This is the perfect bag for anyone looking for a classic bag with on-trend details!

February Nails Inc Haul

Image

I have been waiting for months for the arrival of the nails inc gel effect top and base coats. I read about them in a blog in 2012 and have been desperate to try them ever since. They finally arrived on the nailsinc website so I didn’t wait a second before ordering them and luckily I was not disappointed.

Image

The top and base coats are £12 each, however I have noticed that QVC has a set including both of them as well as three mini polishes for around £19. The top coat dries just as quickly as the Kensington Caviar top coat (which has been my ‘go-to’ since I discovered it over a year ago) and is just as shiny. The main difference is that the new gel effect top coat smooths the nail which gives the ‘gel effect’ look! Definately my new go-to top coat.

The next product I ordered was the Bling it on Leather and Skulls set.

Image

This set is £19 and, although it has been on sale since december, I have only recently been able to get it from NailsInc as it has been constantly sold out. The kit contains the black leather polish, 4 diamante skulls, nail glue and an orange stick.

Image

I watched the YouTube tutorial from NailsInc which shows you how to use the kit. The polish alone looks amazing. I already had the red leather effect so was already addicted to leather polish and the black wasn’t a disappointment. The only problem that I had with this kit was deciding which finger to put the skulls on as they look fantastic on every finger. I settled for my thumbs as I thought that they would get in the way less. I have seen many reviews arguing that the skulls are not practical, however I disagree. I have had them on for 3 days now, they are still firmly in place and have not prevented me from doing any usual day-to-day things. This is a fantastic kit and great value for money.

Image

The best thing about ordering from NailsInc directly is that if you spend over £25 you get a free gift. On most other websites to qualify for a free gift you have to spend considerably more. The free gift that I received was three mini polishes in: Colville Mews, Landsdowne Crescent and Richmond Terrace.

Another haul from NailsInc that did not disappoint.

Keep up the good work NailsInc.

January Nail Polish Haul: Nails Inc and OPI

This is an overview of some of the new nail polishes that i’ve purchased in january.

I purchased this set off QVCUK.com. If you are not familiar with QVC, they are a shopping channel where each day they have one product at a special price for that day only. They still sell the product on their website but the price goes up after the first day. Including p&p this set cost me around £30 but if bought from NailsInc direct would cost over £70!! Some of the colours in this set are exclusively made for QVC so are unavailable to buy anywhere else.

The colours in this set are (from left to right):

– Royal Botanical Gardens

– Campden Hill Road

– Henley Feather Effect

– Express Nail Polish Remover pot

– Lowndes Court

– Belgravia Gardens

– Shoreditch Lane Leather Effect

The Leather effect polish will not be available to buy from NailsInc.com until March 2013. You will either love or hate the leather effect polishes. Personally I love them!! The great thing about the leather polishes is that you can either wear them with the leather effect or you can put a top coat over to make it into a normal dark red polish, so if you’re not sure whether you would like the effect then it would not be a waste of money. As far as I know the leather polishes retail at £12 individually.

One of my favourite effects of 2013 is the feather effect polish. The Bling it on Feathers set is one of my favourite sets from NailsInc so needless to say I was excited when I saw this feather polish. The polish is made up of silver, black and bronze strands of glitter. I painted mine over NailsInc Black Taxi polish but it can be used on it’s own. I had so many compliments when I was wearing this polish and it is truly one-of-a-kind.

The final polish that I have swatched is the neon pink Campden Hill Road. I am not usually a fan of neon pinks but this colour has an almost nude base to it which makes it more wearable. A fantastic colour for spring/summer 2013!! On my ring finger I have a Leighton Denny silver glitter.

photo(5)

I would definately recommend buying this set from QVCUK.com! Your nail wardrobe for spring 2013 will be sorted with the neon tred colours aswell as the special effect feather and leather polishes! Even at the normal QVC price this set is a bargain!!

I have only recently discovered OPI polishes as I always put off by the bottle (they never looked as trendy as NailsInc bottles) however I googled some swatches and fell in love with so many colours. The UK retailer of OPI is LenaWhite.co.uk and when I went on to have a look at the new Mariah Carey collection I discovered that they had a sale on. So I purchased a couple of polishes.

photo(6)

From left to right the colours are: Skull and Glossbones, Metallic 4 Life and Save Me.

I only purchased one full size polish myself as my mom was buying herself the other colours that I had my eye on.

The full size polish was £7 reduced from £11 and the two mini polishes were £2.50 each. This is a great way to try OPI without spending a lot of money.

photo(7)

This is skull and glossbones with Save Me on my ringfinger. After the first coat the polish looked very patchy however after the second coat it was great coverage. It was difficult to get a picture that reflected the true colour of skull and glossbones as it is a nude, greeny/grey colour. Very unusual but gorgeous!!

If anyone is unsure about trying a new brand I would recommend looking at the website now as there are many sales still on. OPI are good coverage and good quality nail polishes with a huge variety of colours to chose from. For me, the only thing that lets OPI down is that there glitters do not provide as good coverage as NailsInc.
