Favourite spring polishes

Spring nail polish favourites 2014

From L – R

NAILS INC ROYAL BOTANICAL GARDENS | This is a beautiful minty blue colour with a cream finish and was from their 2013 spring collection

OPI YOU CALLIN ME A LYRE? | This is a beautiful pale pink colour with a semi sheer finish. This was from OPI’s New York City Ballet collection. This gives the nails a beautiful healthy and natural look

NAILS INC NOTTING HILL CARNIVAL | This is a true bright yellow colour with an opaque finish. I am not sure which collection this was from

NAILS INC HOLLAND PARK GARDENS | This is a beautiful pale green with a cream finish. This was from their garden party collection and is simply beautiful

OPI KISS ME I’M BRAZILIAN | This is a new favourite for me which is a hot pink with a slightly nude undertone which makes it much more wearable than  neon. This is from OPI’s latest Brazil collection

ESSIE FIND ME AN OASIS | This is a beautiful pale blue with a  semi sheer finish, however you can make it opaque in 3 coats. This is from Essie’s Resort Fling collection which is spot on trend

NAILS INC MAYFAIR LANE GEL EFFECT | This is a pale pink in a gel effect finish. This is a beautiful all year round colour with a fantastic high-gloss finish

A very naughty haul!

IMG_3011_Fotor

I went a bit shopping mad this past week and ended up with this little lot!

First of all the scarf…….. I love the contrast of the grey and bright pink…….. absolutely perfect for spring! I picked this up in Primark for £4!

IMG_3004_Fotor_Collage

Next up is this beautiful nude lipstick. I have been looking for the perfect nude lip but all the ones I have tried haven’t hit the mark, whereas this colour is perfect. This is from L’Oreal Paris’ Color Riche Collection Privee in the colour Doutzen’s Nude. It is the perfect nude that is not too brown but not too pink!

IMG_3015_Fotor_Collage

Boots had 3 for 2 so I also picked up this Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Mascara! I accidentally picked up the waterproof version and I am so disappointed with this mascara. After I had applied two coats my lashes barely looked different to having no mascara on. Maybe the non-waterproof one would be better!

IMG_3016_Fotor

The last item I picked up from Boots 3 for 2 offer was this L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique concealer in Light. I didn’t think that this concealer had very good coverage but I like it for applying over another concealer to highlight the under-eye.

IMG_3020_Fotor_Collage

I have always wanted to try Physicians Formula but it is not normally available in the UK. However, I discovered this in TKMaxx. It was the only product they had by this brand but I am so glad that I found it. The bronzer is lovely and surprisingly it isn’t too orange for my pale skin and the blusher is a lovely coral colour. This product also has the added benefit of having a mirror and small brush underneath. I am definitely looking forward to trying more products from this brand!

IMG_3026_Fotor_Collage

I picked up some more Invisibobble hair bands. I have these in the yellow and they are amazing. They do not dent your hair and they prevent getting tight hairs when your hair is up! If you wear your hair up often then definitely check these out!

IMG_3013_Fotor

Beautybay had an extra 10% off over easter weekend so I picked up these two summer colours. The pink is from the Brazil Collection and is ‘Kiss Me I’m Brazilian’. The purple is ‘You’re such a Budapest’ from the Euro Centrale collection! These are both must have colours for spring/summer and have a fantastic formula!

IMG_3012_Fotor

Last but definitely not least, Nails Inc had an 8 piece special collection for only £20……. I couldn’t resist!

From L – R (Top) : Hay Hill, Weighhouse Street, Providence Court, Adam’s Row

From L – R (Bottom) : Palace Gate, Beaufort Street, Kensington Square, St Catherine’s Dock

There is not one colour in this collection that I am not in love with! They are all beautiful colours with fantastic formulas so keep your eyes peeled for some NOTD’s using these beauties!

Nails Inc in InStyle!

IMG_3031_Fotor

May’s issue of InStyle magazine came out today only costing £2.50 at Tesco. The free gift with the magazine is a Nails Inc nail polish. There are three different colours so naturally I bought all three!

IMG_3033_Fotor

From L – R: Copacabana Coral, Sao Paolo Streets, Sugarloaf Sunset.

Copacabana is a red coral colour. It would be perfect for toes in the summer but I’m not really a fan of it.

Sao Paolo Streets is a grey toned nude colour. This is a beautiful colour but is very similar to Colville Mews.

Sugarloaf Sunset is a beautiful neon pink colour. It is almost identical to OPI’s Kiss Me I’m Brazilian so save yourself some money and buy the magazine rather than buying the OPI colour for £11.95!

The magazine also comes with a code for 25% off at NailsInc.com.

Nails Inc Floral Effect

IMG_2996IMG_2997

Nails Inc recently launched their Floral effect polish for spring. This is a clear based glitter polish with large flower pieces in it. This colour is called Chelsea Embankment Gardens and has pale pink and white glitter particles with pink, yellow and blue flowers.

This was difficult to apply as the brush doesn’t always pick up a flower but the effect is lovely for spring and really brightens up a manicure.

I would definitely recommend picking one of their floral effect polishes up as I have not seen any other polish like it on the market! Good job Nails Inc!!

NOTD: Essie Find me an oasis

IMG_2581IMG_2583

This beautiful colour is Essie’s ‘find me an oasis’ from their resort fling 2014 collection

This is a pale blue and has a slight sheer finish so I applied 3 coats for full opacity

I think that this is my favourite nail polish colour EVER!!!

This colour would suit any skin tone and would really pop on a darker skin

If you want the perfect pastel then this is the colour to go for!

A very pink basket!

IMG_2548

I went in to boots to grab the new Garnier Miceller Water as my L’oreal one is almost empty, but of course I was tempted by a couple of other products.

So I picked up the Garnier Miceller Water which was the reason that I went in to Boots. It comes in a 400ml size and has much nicer packaging that the L’oreal version. It was fairly effective at removing my makeup but I have only used it a couple of times so cannot tell what effect it has on my skin yet. I can already tell you that it is not os good as Bioderma but then it is half the price and much easier to get in the UK.

No7 had an offer where you get a free gift if you buy any two products, so I picked up 2 new blushes.

IMG_2549

The first blush I picked up was one of there Pop & Glow Cream Blushes in the colour Rose Blossom. This is a beautiful bright pink which really looks fresh on my porcelain skin. I thought that this product might be quite hard to blend but it was surprisingly easy.

The second blusher I picked up was a limited edition powder blush palette in Peony Petals.

IMG_2555

This is such a beautiful product and the packaging is really nice as well. This blush has quite a bit of shimmer in it, which I wouldn’t usually go for, but the colour is so delicate and beautiful that I think it will be beautiful for summer. This colour is really easy to apply and has good colour payoff like all No7 blushes.

IMG_2552

Because I purchased 2 No7 products I got their spring free gift.

IMG_2554

The gift contains:

  • Skin Illuminator Radiance Boosting Beauty Fluid in Peach – this is fairly shimmery and I don’t think it would work well with a camera flash
  • High Shine Lip Crayon in Delicate Pink – this is a lovely natural pink BUT it has glitter particles in it which is very strange
  • Stay Perfect Eye Shadow in Cappuccino Trio (I don’t know why it is called trio when there is only one colour)
  • Exceptional Definition Mascara in Black – I haven’t tested this yet because I’m saving it to try when I go skiing next week

The last thing I picked up was a box of Strawberry & Cream Lindt. These are the best chocolates EVER!! Boots is the only shop that I can find them in so I can’t resist picking up a box whenever I’m shopping!

Nails Inc bargain

 IMG_2512

Last week Nails Inc had an offer that was too good to resist: 8 polishes for £20. There were three different collections. There was the collection that I purchase which was the more pastel/neutral option, there was a brights collection and there was an in-between collection with bright pastels. All three collections were beautiful but I chose this collection as it was the only collection where I didn’t own most of the colours.

From L-R (top row): St Catherine’s Dock, Park West, Highbury, Little George Street

From L-R (bottom row): Chelsea Green, Fitzroy Road, Holland Park Gardens, Holland Park Avenue

*The only colours I already own in the set are Holland Park Gardens and Holland Park Avenue, however the set was still a steal for the 6 polishes for £20 as this works out at just over £3 per polish. That’s even cheaper than drugstore polishes!!!

IMG_2516

St Catherine’s Dock is a cream nude pink with a lilac undertone. It appears much paler in real life than in the picture

IMG_2515

Park West is a pale off white colour with a hint of grey

IMG_2520

Highbury is a glitter top coat consisting of white bar and circle glitters, pale pink hexagonal glitters and gold multi-shape glitters

IMG_2519

Little George Street is a powder blue cream polish. It is appearing much darker in the photo than in real life

IMG_2518

Chelsea Green is a silver base with black and silver small glitter particles

IMG_2517

Fitzroy Road is a nude brown-toned peach cream polish. It has a slight dusky pink undertone

IMG_2513

Holland Park Gardens is a very pale olive green cream polish. I already own this polish and I have to say that it is one of my all time favourite nail polishes across all brands

IMG_2514

Holland Park Avenue is a rich warm brown cream polish

Some of the colours in the collection are available on nailsinc.com but I am unsure as to whether some were limited edition colours or are to be released soon
